As the Writer-Editor you will:
-Independently plan, research, write, and edit text for interpretive Unigrid brochures for National Park Service units, partners, and other clients. Brochures are for the general public and require analysis and distillation of complex and occasionally difficult topics for presentation within the overall thematic structure, as well as close coordination and collaboration with graphic designers, cartographers, and park partners. -Serve as project lead for teams developing Unigrid brochures, which includes the following; Writes project planning agreements, and modifies them as changes in schedule, scope, or budget require. Keeps park partner informed about all schedule changes-including those that impact delivery. -Coordinate revisions of existing publications, helping to ensure that deadlines are met. Provides planning and editorial direction to other HFC departments, NPS offices, and parks, as needed. Assists Associate Managers, HFC Director, and other NPS offices with special projects. -Adapt publishing procedures to make effective use of changing information, whether of content or new technology, evaluating the benefits, and modifying projects as needed. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include:
Writing and editing effectively for the public using creative interpretive techniques; applying full editorial process from writing to proofreading, and an acquaintance with the design process; applying knowledge of American history and prehistory, natural history, the history of the National Park Service and conservation in America, tourism, and outdoor recreation; and extracting relevant information from NPS Historian Roundtable events to reflect the changing dynamics of interpreting history for park visitors. Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
