The major duties of the Exhibit Designer include, but are not limited to the following:
-Serve as a technical expert responsible for the planning, design, fabrication, installation, and administration of indoor and outdoor three-dimensional, museum-quality exhibits. -Provide authoritative advice regarding current industry and NPS media practices, procedures, and standards, including those relating to technical innovations, accessibility, and sustainability. -Design and/or direct the design of indoor and outdoor three-dimensional, museum-quality exhibit projects while establishing overall creative and technical direction. -Coordinate the planning, design, fabrication, installation, and administration of contracted indoor and outdoor three-dimensional, museum-quality exhibit projects and services and ensures that contracts are properly administered. -Establish and manage the creative and technical direction of contracted media products and services. -Collaborate with park staff, project managers, media professionals, and contractors to develop and implement project scope, schedules, budgets, and staffing needs that best satisfy NPS and park goals and objectives. This position requires that all applicants have direct experience with the planning, design, fabrication, installation, and administration of indoor three-dimensional, museum-quality exhibits. - AND - To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess all the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience that equips the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position. Experience at this level must include all of:
Applying a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices related to the planning, design, fabrication, installation, and administration of indoor and outdoor three-dimensional, museum-quality exhibits; conceptually developing and visualizing techniques and approaches to portray design solutions that meet interpretive goals; using current 2 -Dimensional and 3-Dimensional design tools, imaging, and production software, hardware, and other technologies and tools to design indoor and outdoor museum -quality exhibits; applying the principles of Universal Design, programmatic accessibility, and design and implementation of accessibility accommodations in indoor and outdoor museum quality exhibits; and experience with related fields such as interpretation, history, audio visual production, conservation, architecture, engineering, museum curation, contracting, and archiving in order to work in a multidisciplinary environment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
