Executive Director, Law Enforcement Safety and Compliance

As the Executive Director, Law Enforcement Safety and Compliance (LESC), you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) policy concerning use of force guidance, training, firearms instruction, tracking, reporting, and optimizing of law enforcement offer safety for CBP's law enforcement officers. You will oversee an organization that provides tactical instruction and guidance to law enforcement officers throughout the agency, including the Office of Field Operations,U.S. Border Patrol, Air and Marine Operations, Office of Intelligence, and Office of Professional Responsibility. You will provide executive direction on the application of CBP's National Use of Force Policy that applies to all law enforcement employees within the agency. You will oversee innovation for the research, development, and acquisition of the latest weapon systems, less lethal technology, armor, and ammunition, and ensure close integration with CBP, Department of Homeland Security, and Congressional stakeholders, for enterprise-level deployment and policy guidance. You will also oversee the identification of gaps and vulnerabilities in law enforcement officer safety and implement enterprise-wide changes to policies and guidance. You will oversee the training curriculum at the CBP Advanced Training Center, supporting operational offices in centralizing the certification of instructors in use-of-force tactics and policies to deliver on-site throughout the country. You will establish and maintain working relationships with industry, non-governmental organizations, civil rights and civil liberties organizations, and actively participate on boards, committees, and panels dealing with use of force policy and law enforcement safety issues. Expert knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations related to border patrol operations (e.g., detection, apprehension, and deterrence of terrorists and their weapons, illegal immigrants, and contraband entering the United States). 7. Experience leading complex law enforcement safety and compliance programs (e.g., use of force policies, firearms instruction, law enforcement officer safety for a large, complex agency or organization.

    $131,239 to $197,300 per year

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
