Audiovisual Production Specialist

This position is requires the incumbent serve as the producer, director, and/or editor within a multimedia production team that develops and delivers a variety of multimedia products for use on CBP Learning Management Systems or as stand-alone training products. This position starts at a salary of $102,663.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $133,465.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $133,465 (GS-13 Step 10). In this position you will be performing the below duties:
Serving as the overall manager or producer of audiovisual productions to include accomplishing and coordinating administrative and logistical details, consulting with clients on scripts, developing cost estimates and production schedules and arranging sites for on- or off-location shooting; Directing and establishing the production values and aesthetic quality of the audiovisual production; designing sets and lighting, graphics, motion graphics, 2D/3D elements and animations and controlling most of the artistic and creative aspects; Maintaining responsibility for all post-production processes associated with prerecorded video, including assembling, adjusting, and enhancing the audio and visual elements to produce a finished production. Using a variety of computerized equipment such as non-linear editors, special effects and 3D/2D animation software; Operating and maintaining sophisticated, high-dollar recording and post production equipment including DSLR/cinematic cameras, microphones, digital recording machines, teleprompter, light sets, and computer hardware; and Serving as custodian of high-dollar team equipment and remaining abreast of state-of-the-art equipment, software, video and audio effects, and recording and post-production techniques.
Experience:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Selecting production crews, including the director, performers, camera operators and others; Designing, lighting and utilizing motion graphics, 3D elements and animation; Arranging video segments in the desired sequence and overlaying soundtracks and other visual effects; and Monitoring and controlling the technical quality of the product. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 02/07/2020.
