Housing Management Specialist

This position starts at a salary of $86,335.00 (GS-12, Step 01) to $112,240.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $112,240.00 (GS-12 Step 10). In this Housing Management Specialist position, you will strengthen the Department's ability to protect the homeland by becoming a valuable member of team professionals. Typical duties include:
Serving as the Guest Services Specialist and technical advisor supporting and providing all aspects of customer-facing Lodging & Conference Center (LCC) operations including, but not limited to, guest registration, bell/concierge services, business center operations, telephone services and guest relations; Assisting the Branch Chief in designing, producing and enforcing standard operating procedures for guest services as well as supporting workload distribution and balancing to include the scheduling of employees necessary to maintain 24/7 Front Desk coverage Serving as the primary visitor contact for resident students, staff, guests and visitors to include coordination of student and guest attendance with housekeeping, food services and security; Assisting with identifying and providing developmental and training needs of guest services operations staff; and Providing a high level of customer service in first-rate facilities and fostering a culture and environment of high quality guest services that provides an enhanced training and visitor experience for America's Front line and those who support them.
Experience:
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Serving as subject matter expert of hospitality and lodging operations by independently planning, organizing, and coordinating processes and procedures Applying of a wide range of hospitality management industry standard methods to provide traditional hotel-style front desk operations Refining and developing specific guidelines or administrative procedures and using judgement in selecting the best approach Evaluating management programs and related housing trends or developments. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 04/02/2020.
