Vintage stereo cassette deck - Akai CS-F12 - Nice Condition for sale in Harpers Ferry, WV
akai stereo cassette deck - CS-F12 - Nice Condition. I bought off of a vintage audio collector earlier this year and ended up being one somehow along the way. Need to get rid of a few things. I took off the case recently and painted it since It had some scrapes and scratches and just looked it's age. Looks so much better. I do this on all of my vintage audio components that are either gray or black. Makes them so much better , cleaner, and almost new. I never get near the faceplate, period. I just used this yesterday and tested it again. I put on headphones and direct connected to the tape deck and played a tape sounded fine. Also, I have used this tape deck this past year to record streaming onto cassette. Like the old days of recording FM. One thing I found interesting about this deck, as soon as it is powered on it goes to play mode. If you put in a cassette and power it on, it will start playing. I don't know if that is how it was designed or if it is something with age considering these first hit the market 40 years ago. No issue just something it does. I have cleaned the heads and the moving parts as well. I believe you can adjust the speed, check the manual you can download from hifiengine, for that. I don't know what else to tell you, there are better decks out there but you pay dearly for them. if you are looking for something record and play those old cassettes, this works. And looks good too. The big issue with any of this stuff is finding someone who still works on it. I have a tuner and deck that need serviced for six months, the drive each way is 2.5 hours then i have to pick them up weeks later but thats the only option so finding things that work is a good thing. From Hifiengine website, go there and download the manual, currently there isn't for this specific deck, but there is one for the next model up so that is helpful. You can download for free. If you do a search on the make and model, you will see the hifiengine website pop up. Asks questions, and look at pics that were take on 12/17/21. I will ship it with the most affordable method possible to save money.
